Why celebrate birthday?

Two years ago, we had lunch at Kenny Roger's to celebrate your birthday.

And you asked "Why do we have to celebrate birthday, it's there every year". Everyone laughed. Dude, isn't the answer clear now? Our birth dates will always be here every single year as long as the calendar exists.

But we may not.

Your birthday is 23rd April. We remember. Today is mine. But it reminded me of what you have said.

We couldn't imagine what you've been through in the final moments. We were shocked to hear the news. We didn't even have the opportunity to pray for your recovery. Too fast, the ending came without any signs. We start the new year with one friend less. We regret that time was too short, for you and for all of us.

We pray that You shed light to the new world this friend of ours has joined, returning safely into Your warmth.
We pray that in Your arms, he is relieved of all the pain of this physical world.
We pray that with Your guidance, he finds peace.
